The Car of the Future
If personal mobility as we know it continues to 2035, the growth in both population and individual wealth will combine into a forecast of economic potential for three billion motor vehicles to be on the road by then. This is a significant increase from the 800 million motor vehicles currently in use With the increasing expense of owning and growing frustration of driving, customers' desires for personal mobility may be significantly different in 2035. Additional government regulations may further dissuade people from purchasing the car as we know it. The stage may be set for a new range of mobility solutions.
Car of the Future, a Global Insight Special Study
Global Insight and Futuribles have teamed up to develop a special study that takes a close look at what the year 2035 may look like for personal mobility. Car of the Future will provide the contextual environment and implications to help our customers incorporate plausible scenarios and assumptions in their future business strategies. As such, they may seize the "first mover" advantage and thus gain maximum profits from the transition, instead of following in the footsteps of their competitors at potentially reduced margins.
The study will enable clients to:
- Develop more successful mid- and long-term business and product strategies
- Justify long-range investment decisions
- Identify opportunities and threats both technically and by markets
- Optimize their organization's approach to future developments
- Help their company achieve above-average business results
This study is scheduled to be released in October 2008.
